E' uscito il 1200 AX.
Che voi sappiate è possibile avere un mesh con lan backhaul senza un router fritz?
Vorrei fare un mesh con il mio router zyxel windtre ma tramite lan, perchè il wifi arriva troppo debole per creare velocità a sufficienza. Ma mi serve un mesh, non un access point. In sostanza mi serve il mesh con lan backhaul (non wifi backhaul).
Col fritz so che funziona il lan backhaul... ma con un router zyxel?

Che io sappia il Mesh funziona solo sui router Fritz, quindi non dovresti poter essere in grado di usare li stessi SSID di rete.
Quindi ho paura che quello di cui stai parlando non sia possibile.
Detto questo, io ho tutto fritz, quindi non ho mai provato a fare quello di cui tu parli.

in quel campo ho capito che devo mettere la stessa password del mio attuale wifi del router (non fritz). Il mesh non mi interessa neanche farlo, mi basta solo aumentare il range/potenza del wifi

Confermo nel modello 1200 AX il Wifi è WiFi 6 802.11ax.
Nel modello 1200 il WiFi è WiFi 5 802.1ac.

**[1] Automatic detection an configuration of operating mode**

For configuration of a FRITZ!Repeater in "LAN Bridge" mode (using a repeater connected with the FRITZ!Box by cable as the wireless access point), previously the FRITZ!Repeater user interface had to be opened.
Making this setting is no longer necessary with this lab version - the FRITZ!Repeater automatically detects the operating mode.

- Factory settings must be configured in the FRITZ!Repeater (to reset the factory settings: Wait 2 minutes for the FRITZ!Repeater to be completely startet, than press and hold the button on the repeater for at least 15 seconds).
- Remove the repeater from the outlet.
- Connect the FRITZ!Repeater with any LAN port on the FRITZ!Box via LAN cable.
- Insert the FRITZ!Repeater into an electrical outlet. Upon starting, the repeater is already set to "LAN Bridge" mode.
- Now enable the repeater for Mesh (press briefly on the button on the repeater, and briefly on the "Connect/WPS" or "WPS" button on the FRITZ!Box). Now the repeater adopts the settings and forms a Mesh Wi-Fi with the FRITZ!Box. More information on this subject is available at en.avm.de/mesh.
- If you want to switch back to a connection of the FRITZ!Repeater to the FRITZ!Box via WiFi, remove the LAN-cabel from the FRITZ!Repeater and repeat the process without connecting a LAN-Cable

**Restoring factory defaults**

To reset the FRITZ!Repeater to factory settings: Wait 2 minutes for the FRITZ!Repeater to be completely startet, then press and hold the button on the repeater for at least 15 seconds

**Enabling the Mesh Function**

To check whether a FRITZ! product is enabled for Mesh, see the "Mesh Overview" of the FRITZ!Box (the Mesh Master) under "fritz.box / Home Network / Mesh".
Here the products in the Mesh are designated with a corresponding "Mesh active" icon.

A FRITZ!Repeater or FRITZ!Powerline adapter can be enabled for Mesh in various ways:
- If the FRITZ!Repeater or FRITZ!Powerline adapter has the factory settings configured and is being connected with the FRITZ!Box via WPS for the first time, it will be automatically enabled for Mesh.
- If the FRITZ!Repeater or FRITZ!Powerline adapter is already connected, but not enabled for Mesh, it is added to the Mesh by pressing a button on the product to be integrated and a button on the FRITZ!Box.
On the FRITZ!Box, use the button that initiates WPS: depending on the model, press the "Connect" or "WPS" button briefly, or the "WLAN/WPS" button for 6 seconds

Vale la pena acquistarlo? Avrei bisogno di estendere la rete wifi a tutto il mio appartamento, purtroppo per comodità preferisco tenere il modem fritz in una posizione non centrale nell'appartemento (quindi ad un estremo), e cosi facendo il certi posti non mi prende (tipo in certi punti del salotto, o in cucina o in bagno).
Volevo attaccare questo repeater in un punto centrale della casa, e mi chiedevo se cosi facendo mi permetterà poi di avere un segnale wifi (mi interessa il 5 ghz, il 2.4 anche no) stabile e su tutto l'appartamento. Spero comunque poi il sistema sia abbastanza smart da collegarsi realmente al punto piu vicino ogni volta che mi sposto. Avendo io un fritz in camera (modem) e un 4040 due piani sotto ( taverna) vorrei evitare cose tipo che se sono in camera si connette a questo repeater o se sono giù che si connette sempre a questo repeater e non al 4040.
