Con linea cablata a me su Tim VDSL ha migliorato di 2/3 Mb il down (partendo da 76) mentre ha tenuto uguale l'up (ma quello probabilmente a causa del buco che ho nelle frequenze in up causate dalla derivata seconda).

Latenza vs velocità vs modelli modem
Aggiungo che a proposito di latenza, a parità di linea, sono passato da 6(baffo) a 5 (smart) ms con la banda a 76Mbps.
Ma passando da 76 a 96, la latenza è risalita a 7/8 ms che è paragonabile a quella che avevo a suo tempo quando con il baffo e senza diafonia inizialmente con pochi utenti, agganciavo i 108 Mbps. Quindi parrebbe vero che sotto una certa soglia di velocità comunque la latenza diminuisce. |

sono due apparati diversi, che usano chipst xdsl diversi (quello di telecom continua ad usare il solito chipset 63168, incompatibile coi 35MHz, anzi è stato assemblato per dare solo i 17MHz, visto che praticamente nessun provider usa il 30a, men che meno telecom) e si vede che l'xtream 35b (bcm63138) è (forse per ora) un'esclusiva per Fastweb (del resto è difficile trovare in tutto il pianeta, un secondo provider che sta già usando più o meno diffusamente piastre compatibili col profilo 35b come quanto sta facendo fastweb

Ho provato la procedura guidata per la connessione a internet, stile tplink/netgear/etc ma non sono piu' riuscito a connettermi; nella procedura chiede di inserire i dati della fonia, i classici vpi/vci dove ho messo 8.35 , pppoe etc, modalita bridge/routed/routed+voip e l'autentificazione. Allora ho provato il reset di fabbrica , ma sia con firefox che con explorer il pulsante non ha alcun effetto, il reset no nviene eseguito. Sono tornato alla pagina web classica brandizzata e ho fatto il reset di fabbrica da li, ho recuperato la connessione internet ma la fonia e' sempre giu'. edit: anche l'impostazione per abilitare l'accesso remoto non funziona, il tasto della pagina web non appare fare nulla, come con il reset di fabbrica. edit: su questo menu' manca completamente la gestione del wifi. e' ben nascosto, cambiate la lingua a inglese. edit: a quanto pare l'abilitazione all'accesso remoto funziona anche se dalla pagina web non sembra, difatto pochi istanti dopo il led della fonia e' diventato verde e sul log de' modem e' apparsa la dicitura "Sep 10 09:17:23 CONFIGURATION saved by TR69", il telefono funziona. update: dipende dalla connessione automatica; adesso l'applicazione mytim su android identifica e gestisce il modem a wifi spento e ne mostra pure la foto. forse ho capito il problema, fra qualche attimo, riporto i risultati di quello che provo adesso. Vorrei che qualcun'altro facesse la controprova cosi' lo mettiamo nelle faq:
gestione remota del modem, provisioning, etc, necessitano per funzionare che il modem abbia la connessione internet attiva, insomma deve avere un ip pubblico. Se avete un router in cascata che si connette via pppoe funzionera' lo stesso, avrete due ip pubblici che e' uno spreco vsto la carenza, ma per ora non vedo alternative. La fonia funziona solo se il modem e' collegato a internet con ip pubblico, come appena detto, se impostate il modem per non connettersi ad internet la fonia cessa istantanemanete di funzionare. e qui la parte interessante, quella che ha mandato ko gli operatori del 1949: se resettate il modem dal pulsantino posteriore, solita procedura, o dalla pagina web usando la funzione per resettare le impostazione di fabbrica, nessuna delle due procedure' andra' a modificare l'impostazione della connessione automatica, rimarra' quella che avete lasciato e se e' disattivata il 1949 e' tagliato fuori. edit: nemmeno la lan viene resettata, quindi se sbagliate qualcosa vi ritroverete con un fermacarte. Come disse qualche insider tempo fa credo che con questo nuovo modem si utilizzi una sola connessione pppoe, e quindi se la connessone internet non è attiva non funziona neanche la fonia.
