E' tecnicamente possibile che siadisponibile tra qualche giorno un video 1600x1200 a 5 frame al secondo dell'atterraggio, ripreso dalla telecamera MARDI, puntata verso il terreno sin dal momento del distacco dello scudo termico.

MARDI - Mars Descent Imager
MARDI is a fixed focus full color camera fixed-body-mounted to the fore-port-side of the Rover. Its optical axis points in the +Z direction toward the ground. The camera will take high resolution images during the rover’s final descent to the Martian Surface. It will be active between heat shield separation until a few seconds after touchdown taking 5 images per second over a period of about 2 minutes. The images will be 1600x1200 pixel in resolution. Activation of the camera is done by the rover software which will send a start imaging command, the camera will operate autonomously writing data into the permanent flash memory in real time during acquisition before receiving a stop imaging command from the rover’s software when is has detected a successful landing. Image downlink will be performed later when communications and time are available.
