The B2 stepping variants of Zen 3 have already started shipping and will be available to consumers by the end of December. Although identical to existing Ryzen 5000 parts, these chips will offer better overclocking potential and more stable clocks. Overall, it looks like AMD’s plans are proceeding as expected. The Zen 3D announcement should come sometime in the first quarter, possibly even at CES 2021.

The actual Zen 3D hard launch should happen sometime in March or April, quite a while Intel’s Alder Lake launch. If the gaming performance of Zen 3D isn’t much better than vanilla Zen 3, then it’ll be a hard-to-justify launch. Regardless, it’ll be the final processor lineup to support AM4, and as such will be an upgrade option for many AMD consumers.

For users already sporting Ryzen 5000 SKUs, however, it’ll likely be hard to justify. For these users, we suggest, waiting out the coming generation from both AMD and Intel. DDR5 and PCIe Gen 5 are intriguing options, but for the time being it looks like the benefits over DDR4 and PCIe Gen 4 are minimal.

Secondo i tweet di ExecutableFix, AMD Instinct MI200 raggiungerà una velocità di clock fino a 1,7 GHz, con un aumento del 13% rispetto all'Instinct MI100. La GPU MCM alimentata da CDNA 2 offre anche quasi il doppio del numero di stream processor a 14.080 core, racchiusi in 220 unità di calcolo

In termini di prestazioni, l'acceleratore HPC AMD Instinct MI200 offrirà quasi 50 TFLOP (47,9) TFLOP di potenza di calcolo FP64 e FP32. Rispetto all'Instinct MI100 , questo è un aumento di 4,16 volte nel segmento FP64. In effetti, i numeri FP64 dell'MI200 superano le prestazioni FP32 del suo predecessore. Passando ai numeri FP16 e BF16, stiamo osservando un folle 383 TFLOP di prestazioni. Per prospettiva, l'MI100 offre solo 92,3 TFLOP di prestazioni di picco BFloat16 e 184,6 TFLOP di prestazioni di picco FP16.
