Consigli vari:

Primo utilizzo
Preparate e configurate il modem ethernet per la vostra connessione ad internet. Collegate il modem alla porta WAN del router, il router alla rete elettrica e ad una porta ethernet del PC.

Configurazione del router per l'accesso a Internet
Quando si effettua la configurazione manuale, è necessario accedere al router per l'impostazione iniziale e per apportare modifiche alle impostazioni in un secondo momento.

1. Connettersi al router digitando http://www.routerlogin.net nel campo degli indirizzi del browser e premere Invio.
Vi verranno richiesti Username e Password. Di default, essi sono:
Username: admin
Password: password

2. Viene visualizzato un messaggio di saluto che ricorda di utilizzare periodicamente l'aggiornamento firmware e la funzione Wireless-N del router. Fare clic su pulsante "Close Window" (Chiudi finestra).
Viene visualizzata la schermata Router Upgrade (Aggiornamento router), che chiede di cercare una nuova versione del firmware.
Fare clic su Check (Verifica) per reperire un nuovo firmware (consigliato). Il router accederà automaticamente al database NETGEAR per cercare un nuovo file di immagine firmware.
Se non è disponibile una nuova versione del firmware, comparirà il messaggio “No New Firmware Version Available”. Selezionando “No”, sarà possibile cercare nuovo firmware in un secondo momento; consultare il Manuale utente online.
Se è disponibile una nuova versione del firmware, fare clic su Yes (Sì) e il router si aggiornerà automaticamente alla versione del firmware più recente.

3. Selezionare Setup Wizard (Installazione guidata) dal menu principale. Viene visualizzata la schermata Setup Wizard (Installazione guidata).

4. Selezionare No per impostare la connessione manualmente. Fare clic su Next (Avanti). Viene visualizzata la schermata Basic Settings (Impostazioni di base). Inserire le informazioni per la connessione all'ISP nei campi appropriati. In caso di problemi, consultare le schermate Basic Settings Help (Guida alle impostazioni di base) nell'interfaccia del router.

5. Fare clic su Apply (Applica) per salvare le impostazioni e completare la connessione.
Ora si è connessi a Internet.

N.B.: Successivamente è consigliabile cambiare la password di default per l'accesso al router. Per fare ciò il percorso è: Manutenzione --> Imposta password. Inserite i nuovi dati e cliccate su Applica.

Configurazione della rete wireless per l'accesso a Internet
Accedere al browser Web e digitare http://www.routerlogin.net nel campo degli indirizzi. Premere Invio.
Quando richiesto, immettere il nome utente (admin) e la password (password) predefiniti, entrambi in caratteri minuscoli. Se si è modificato il nome utente e la password predefiniti, inserire i nuovi valori.
Le impostazioni di rete wireless del router devono corrispondere alle impostazioni di rete wireless di qualsiasi dispositivo wireless che si connette al router in modalità wireless (quali schede e computer wireless).
Per la connessione wireless, il router e ciascun computer wireless devono utilizzare lo stesso nome di rete wireless (SSID) e la stessa sicurezza wireless. NETGEAR consiglia vivamente di attivare la sicurezza sulla rete wireless.

La schermata Impostazioni wireless consente di impostare le connessioni della rete wireless e l'opzione di sicurezza wireless appropriata per la rete e il router in uso. Per configurare la rete wireless, è possibile specificare manualmente il proprio nome di rete (SSID) e le proprie impostazioni di protezione wireless oppure, nel caso in cui i client della rete siano compatibili con WPS, è possibile utilizzare lo standard Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) per impostare in modo automatico il nome SSID e implementare la protezione WPA/WPA2 sia sul router sia sul dispositivo client.
Se si configura il router da un computer wireless e si modifica l'SSID, il canale o le impostazioni di protezione del router, la connessione wireless andrà persa facendo clic su Apply (Applica). Sarà quindi necessario modificare le impostazioni wireless del computer per far sì che corrispondano alle nuove impostazioni del router. Per evitare questa eventualità, è possibile utilizzare un computer connesso al router tramite un cavo Ethernet.

Al fine di specificare le impostazioni wireless, è necessario conoscere:
• Nome (SSID 11N a 2,4 GHz). Il nome predefinito è NETGEAR.
• Nome (SSID 11N a 5 GHz). Il nome predefinito è NETGEAR-5G.
• La modalità wireless (802.11n) supportata da ciascun adattatore wireless. L'impostazione predefinita è Up to 130 Mbps at 2,4 GHz and 300 Mbps at 5 GHz (Fino a 130 Mbps a 2,4 GHz e 300 Mbps a 5 GHz).
• L'opzione di protezione wireless. Per attivare la sicurezza sulla rete wireless, controllare ogni adattatore wireless per determinare quale opzione di protezione wireless supporta.

Per configurare la connettività wireless di base sul router:
1. Accedere al router usando l'indirizzo predefinito http://www.routerlogin.net, il nome utente predefinito admin e la password predefinita password oppure usando l'indirizzo LAN e la password impostati.

2. Selezionare Wireless Settings (Impostazioni wireless) sotto Setup nel menu principale per visualizzare la schermata delle impostazioni wireless.

3. Selezione dell'area. Negli Stati Uniti, l'area predefinita non può essere modificata. Per il resto del mondo, l'area predefinita è Europa.

4. Configurazione della rete wireless a 2,4 GHz:

a. Inserire il nome SSID. Il nome predefinito è NETGEAR.
b. Selezionare il canale operativo per la modalità wireless. L'impostazione predefinita è Auto. Selezionando Auto, il router trova il miglior canale operativo disponibile.
Se si dovessero verificare delle interferenze causate da dispositivi vicini, è possibile selezionare un canale diverso. I canali 1, 6 e 11 non interferiscono tra di loro.
c. Lasciare la modalità wireless impostata con il valore predefinito Up to 130 Mbps (Fino a 130 Mbps) per 2,4GHz.

5.Selezionare le opzioni di protezione per la rete wireless a 2,4 GHz.
L'impostazione predefinita per le opzioni di protezione wireless è None (Nessuna). NETGEAR consiglia vivamente di attivare la sicurezza sulla rete wireless. È possibile selezionare un'opzione e una password di protezione diversa per ciascuna rete wireless.
Per ottenere il massimo dalle prestazioni della rete wireless a 2,4GHz e il più alto livello di crittografia, NETGEAR consiglia di selezionare WPA2-PSK come opzione di protezione.

6. Configurazione della rete wireless a 5 GHz:

a. Inserire il nome SSID. Il nome predefinito è NETGEAR-5G.
b. Selezionare il canale operativo per la modalità wireless. Il canale predefinito è 36.
Se nell'elenco canali è presente un'opzione di ricerca automatica del canale e tale opzione viene selezionata, il router selezionerà il miglior canale disponibile.
c. Lasciare la modalità wireless impostata sul valore predefinito Up to 300 Mbps (Fino a 300 Mbps) per 5 GHz.

7. Selezionare le opzioni di protezione per la rete wireless a 5 GHz.
L'impostazione predefinita per le opzioni di protezione wireless è None (Nessuna). NETGEAR consiglia vivamente di attivare la sicurezza sulla rete wireless. È possibile selezionare un'opzione e una password di protezione diversa per ciascuna rete wireless.
Per ottenere il massimo dalle di prestazioni della rete wireless a 5 GHz e il più alto livello di crittografia, NETGEAR consiglia di selezionare WPA2-PSK come opzione di protezione.

8. Fare clic su Apply (Applica) per salvare le modifiche.

Utilizzo della tecnologia Push 'N' Connect (WPS) per configurare la rete wireless
Se i client wireless supportano lo standard Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), è possibile utilizzare
questa funzione per configurare il nome SSID del router e le impostazioni di protezione e, allo
stesso tempo, connettere il client wireless al router in modo sicuro e semplice. Cercare il simbolo

sul dispositivo client. Lo standard WPS configura automaticamente il nome SSID e le impostazioni di protezione wireless per il router (nel caso in cui il router sia nella configurazione predefinita) e trasmette queste impostazioni al client wireless.
Se il router è già stato configurato manualmente o tramite Smart Wizard ed è stata attivata un'opzione di protezione (WEP con autenticazione automatica, WPS-PSK, WPA2-PSK o nessuna protezione), è possibile aggiungere alla rete un client wireless in modo rapido e semplice tramite la tecnologia Push 'N' Connect. In questo caso, le impostazioni wireless esistenti vengono trasmesse
al client dotato di funzionalità WPS.
Le seguenti istruzioni presuppongono che si stia effettuando la configurazione WPS sul router per la prima volta e che si connetta un dispositivo dotato di funzionalità WPS, come un computer o un adattatore wireless.

Per connettere un altro dispositivo che utilizza WPS:
1. Aprire l'utilità per il collegamento in rete del dispositivo che si desidera connettere e che supporta WPS.

2. Premere il pulsante WPS del wireless-N gigabit router, quindi rilasciarlo. Il LED WPS inizierà a lampeggiare.

3. Mentre il LED WPS lampeggia, sono disponibili 2 minuti per attivare il WPS sul dispositivo cui si sta tentando di connettersi. I LED smettono di lampeggiare quando si verifica una delle seguenti condizioni:
• WPS ha attivato la protezione tra il router e l'altro dispositivo. Il router ha generato un SSID, implementato la protezione wireless WPA/WPA2, compresa una password di protezione PSK, e ha inviato questa configurazione al client wireless.
• Se non viene stabilita la connessione entro l'intervallo di 2 minuti tramite il WPS, la protezione del router e l'SSID (nome della rete wireless) rimarranno configurati per la protezione WPA/WPA2.
Il LED WPS smetterà di lampeggiare o si spegnerà, a seconda della configurazione impostata.

4.Annotare il nuovo nome SSID e la password WPA/WPA2 per la rete wireless.

Apertura porte per servizi vari o P2P:
1. Accedere al router usando l'indirizzo predefinito http://www.routerlogin.net, il nome utente predefinito admin e la password predefinita password oppure usando l'indirizzo LAN e la password impostati.
2. Andare nel menù advanced-->Port Forwarding / Port Triggering.
3. Selezionare Port Forwarding.
4. Premere il pulsante "Add custum service".
5. Inserire il nome del servizio, il protocollo TCP/UDP, la porta iniziale e la porta finale (solitamente uguali) e l'indirizzo IP del PC verso cui aprire la porta.
6. Premere il pulsante "Apply" (Applica).

N.B.: E' possibile utilizzare anche la funzione UPnP per il Port Forwarding: basta andare nel menù advanced-->UPnP, selezionare "Turn UPnP On" e premere "Apply" (Applica).

Procedura aggiornamento firmware:
1.Annotare tutti i valori che sono stati cambiati rispetto al default, perchè potrebbe essere necessario reinserirli manualmente.
2.Scaricare il file immagine del firmware in qualsiasi cartella di convenienza.
3.Loggarsi nel router attraverso un browser. L'URL è http://www.routerlogin.net oppure usare l'indirizzo IP del router.
4.Cliccare su Maintenance > Router Upgrade
5.Cliccare su Sfoglia e trovare il file scaricato precedentemente.
6.Cliccare su Upload.

Note importanti:

a. Il processo di aggiornamento è concluso quando la barra di avanzamento sullo schermo è completa. Se il LED di alimentazione diventa giallo e lampeggia, spegnere e riaccendere il router per completare l'aggiornamento.
b. Se la barra di avanzamento dell'aggiornamento nell'interfaccia web non viene visualizzata correttamente durante l'upgrade del firmware, è ancora possibile verificare lo stato tramite il LED di alimentazione. Il LED deve essere lampeggiante (ambra) durante l'aggiornamento del firmware. Dopo che l'aggiornamento del firmware è completo e il sistema fa il boot, esso diventa fisso di colore ambra.
Si prega di NON spegnere o riavviare il dispositivo durante l'aggiornamento del firmware, in caso contrario, può accadere che il firmware rimanga danneggiato e che il dispositivo non funzioni.

3.Enhancement – The traffic meter monitors data traffic every 1 second.
4.Fixed “Using Vista (Wired External Registrar) to configure WNDR3700 (must be in un-configured mode) as WPA-PSK or WPA2- PSK and passphrase is exactly 63 characters, then wireless client cannot associate DUT.”

Known Issues

2.NTFS write performance (upload to WNDR3700 attached USB storage) is much slower than read no matter using samba or FTP. FTP read is 5 times faster than write. Samba (ie. access network drive via windows) read is 2 times faster than write.
3.Sometimes clicking “Safely remove USB device” button can't remove USB storage safely. Workaround: Make sure you are not accessing the attached USB device and the LED on USB device is not blinking (it means no one is accessing it). Then you need to remove the USB device directly and ignore the message about “remove USB device failure) from web GUI.

•The record time interval of storing statistics data in traffic meter is extended to 60 mins instead of 5 mins to extend flash sector life time. If you power off router in between, you may see the statistics data to be slightly inconsistent. We’ll solve this problem soon and shorten the record time interval less than 5 mins.
Workaround: Don’t power off router if you want most accurate measure of traffic statistics data. This will be fixed in upcoming firmware.
•Some ISP modem services will be detected as Static IP by using CD Smart Wizard or web GUI setup wizard.
Workaround: Please log in web GUI without running CD directly, choose basic setting in the setup category->select “No”-> Click “Apply”. Then you should be able to get IP address from your ISP and connect to internet.
•If a conflict DNS address is assigned by DHCP server (IP address is not conflict) from WAN side of WNDR3700, it won’t be found as an IP conflict. The LAN IP address won’t be changed.
Workaround: Modify LAN IP address manually.
•ReadyShare Internet access - Enable ReadyShare Internet access via ftp with default port 21, it still allows users to add port forward rule using port 21. Enable ReadyShare Internet access via http with default port 80, it still allows users to add port forward rule using port 80.
Workaround: Change the ftp and http port to other ports in ReadyShare advanced settings page if users want to add port forwarding rule with port 21 or 80.

Workaround: Set a proper number in “Mbytes before the monthly limit is reached” in the traffic control.
•Traffic meter – The “Today's traffic counter” and “This month's only” are cleared but other data still exist in Internet Traffic Statistics table after click "Restart Counter Now" button.
•Traffic meter – Traffic counter restores previous counter back in Internet traffic statistics table after click "Restart Counter Now" button and then click "Apply" Button.
Workaround: Don’t click “Apply” button after click “Restart Counter Now” button until next month. Or If you still want to change the start time of restart traffic counter, you can click “Apply” button after you change the restart time, and then click "Restart Counter Now" button.
•In NA firmware, the wireless region is blank in wireless setting page, but the actual setting is correct. It should display “North America”.

In the V1.0.14.98 firmware, the IPTV function is visible for Russia language user. This is wrong because this feature is not ready yet. We remove this function from V1.0.16.98 firmware. When this function is ready, we will release it in the future firmware release.

Collegate il modem alla porta WAN del router, il router alla rete elettrica e ad una porta ethernet del PC. Configurazione del router per l'accesso a Internet Quando si effettua la configurazione manuale, è necessario accedere al router per l'impostazione iniziale e per apportare modifiche alle impostazioni in un secondo momento. 1. Connettersi al router digitando http://www.routerlogin.net nel campo degli indirizzi del browser e premere Invio. Vi verranno richiesti Username e Password. Di default, essi sono: Username: admin Password: password 2. Viene visualizzato un messaggio di saluto che ricorda di utilizzare periodicamente l'aggiornamento firmware e la funzione Wireless-N del router. Se si è modificato il nome utente e la password predefiniti, inserire i nuovi valori. Per connettere un altro dispositivo che utilizza WPS: 1. Aprire l'utilità per il collegamento in rete del dispositivo che si desidera connettere e che supporta WPS. 2. Premere il pulsante WPS del wireless-N gigabit router, quindi rilasciarlo. Il LED WPS inizierà a lampeggiare. 3. Mentre il LED WPS lampeggia, sono disponibili 2 minuti per attivare il WPS sul dispositivo cui si sta tentando di connettersi. I LED smettono di lampeggiare quando si verifica una delle seguenti condizioni: • WPS ha attivato la protezione tra il router e l'altro dispositivo. Il router ha generato un SSID, implementato la protezione wireless WPA/WPA2, compresa una password di protezione PSK, e ha inviato questa configurazione al client wireless. • Se non viene stabilita la connessione entro l'intervallo di 2 minuti tramite il WPS, la protezione del router e l'SSID (nome della rete wireless) rimarranno configurati per la protezione WPA/WPA2. Note importanti: a. Il processo di aggiornamento è concluso quando la barra di avanzamento sullo schermo è completa. Se il LED di alimentazione diventa giallo e lampeggia, spegnere e riaccendere il router per completare l'aggiornamento. b. Se la barra di avanzamento dell'aggiornamento nell'interfaccia web non viene visualizzata correttamente durante l'upgrade del firmware, è ancora possibile verificare lo stato tramite il LED di alimentazione. Il LED deve essere lampeggiante (ambra) durante l'aggiornamento del firmware. Dopo che l'aggiornamento del firmware è completo e il sistema fa il boot, esso diventa fisso di colore ambra. In the V1.0.14.98 firmware, the IPTV function is visible for Russia language user. This is wrong because this feature is not ready yet. We remove this function from V1.0.16.98 firmware.
