Ho riprovato anche chiudendo il firewall, niente da fare, la rete con AVS installato non dà segni di vita! Ho sbirciato tra le FAQ del Kaspersky ed anche lì è presente il problema, ma con una soluzione diversa, in quel caso bisogna fare così:

To restore connection with the LAN/Internet, disable protection against network attacks in the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal settings:
Go to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal > Settings > Configure Real-Time Protection
In the Real-Time Protection settings window check Disable protection against network attacks
Close each window by pressing OK

Peccato che nell'AVS alla voce setting non ci sia questo parametro!
