Come posso utilizzare questo client sfruttando la mia ATI 2400?

xchè ho scaricato il programma dal sito ufficiale ma una volta avviato mi esce questo strano errore:

Quell'errore ti dice quali modelli di video sono supportate, e la tua, purtroppo non è tra quelle. Per ora non hai modo di utilizzare la tua GPU x folding, nn ti resta che sperare che facciano al + presto il supporto x le schede video della tua serie.

Ricordo che la versione CPU di Folding@Home è la base del progetto eh...

Semplicemente la tua 2400, con tutta la serie 2xxx e 3xxx, non è ancora supportata

E' MOLTO complicato tirar su un programma per sfruttare le schede video con questi calcoli...

Folding@Home non è mai stato su BOINC, nè lo è ora... se vuoi partecipare devi andare a prendere il loro client

vista in sospensione folding lavora o no?
 
ciao ragazzi ho comprato un pc nuovo con vista preinstallato io sono un linuxiano e non mi piace molto, ma dato che se lo tolgo non mi vale piu' la garanzia lo dovro' tenere e successivamente installerò ubuntu come secondo sistema operativo: ma passiamo al dunque ovviamente uso folding@home come voi e vorrei sapere se vista quando entra in sospensione pc blocca o mette in pausa folding@home... :confused: :confused: :confused:

Quando un pc è in sospensione è spento, ergo non può elaborare.

Ma davvero formattando il pc si perde la garanzia? Robe da matti...se c'è un difetto hardware che ci incastra il sistema operativo :nono:

Sinceramente se è pr la cpu e basta preferisco boinc.. folding@home mi interessava per la possibilità di usare la gpu, ma sembra che ultimamente abbiano ritirato il progetto :mad:

Bene ora che mi sono sfogato un pò, ti sembrava male e il progetto è ancora lì che ha bisogno di potenza, ma non ha più la pubblicità di una volta :D

Lo sviluppo prosegue e tra un pò saranno compatibili pure le schede delle serie 2xxx e 3xxx

La tua è compatibile dall'inizio quindi anche ora, vai sul sito, scarica il client GPU e dimmi come va :D

Ci provai un mese fa (ho vista 64) ma mi dava errore! mi piacerebbe usarla perché la vga in questi calcoli è decine di volte più veloce della cpu.. altrimenti userò ancora il client a 64 bit di boinc (che comunque rulla abbastanza colle2140@3ghz). Se hai qualche informazione da darmi dì pure, altirmenti lo scarico e riprovo quando ne ho voglia :)

Boh, non c'è molto da dire, il client è là, è stato aggiornato rispetto a quando l'hai provato quindi tentare non nuoce

Se dà errore boh, bisogna cercar di capire che cosa lo causa!

dopo 466 WU con la Ps3 ho deciso di dare il mio aiuto anche con il pc nuovo... ho un q6600 a 3,2 ghz però folding@home nn sfrutta al massimo il processore ogni singolo core non supera il 30% di carico, è normale?

È appena uscito, scaricatelo, installatelo (finalmente ha un installante, niente più estrazione manuale :D ) e giote finalmente della possibilità di sfruttare queste incredibili schede nella ricerca!

Se usate Vista avviatelo come Amministratore che meglio, se quando lo avviate vi chiede delle .dll sono le amdcalcl.dll e amdcalrt.dll

Ve le installa si ma in un'altra cartella...su Vista io le ho beccate sotto C:\Users\nomeutente\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-gpu

Semplicemente copiatele e incollatele in C:\Program Files\Folding@home\Folding@home-gpu

E andrà :D Va anche abbastanza veloce...almeno, la WU che mi è appena arrivata... si che ho una 3870

L'unica è i driver, mi sembrava ci volessero gli 8.3 ma io ho i 7.11 e va :D

Forse con gli 8.3 va più veloce

I driver sono quelli forniti dalla Asus aggiornati(non gli ATI ufficiale), il log di F@H mi dice:

Sarà la quarta volta che provo a far funzionare il client GPU ma non ne vuole sapere. Non scarica le wu... :muro:
Ho Vista Ultimate 64 sul pc in sign. Come driver ho gli 8.3.

Questo è il problema

Il client è quello delle 1xxx e sto problema era già venuto fuori

Hai Vista? In che cartella è il tutto (beh però lo installa lui da solo..)? Provato ad avviarlo come admin?


Mah, sul forum altri han sto problema ma la soluzione nun c'è

La cartella è C:\Program Files (x86)\Folding@home\Folding@home-gpu (è quella di default).
Si, il client l'ho avviato come admin. Sai se gli altri che hanno questo stesso problema hanno la vga agp?

Io ho risolto: ho sostituito i driver Asus con quelli ufficiali ATI(8.3) e funziona tutto.

Al momento solo ATI (e già qua si fanno un mazzo così :D )

Per le nvidia c'è qualche studio su altri progetti ma al momento niente di concreto

Una goduria! Pensate poi con le schede in crossfire e overclocckate come le vedete in signa!

Entrambe le schede vengono utilizzate, anche se nessuna delle 2 al 100%. La prima è intorno al 40%, e la seconda solo al 10%.
In ogni caso sono sicuro che già così sto producendo più risultati di quanto non faccia una ps3 :D.

1) questo è un programma per fare ricerche mediche (+ o -)
2) no non ti appesantisce il pc, perchè quando unaltro processo chiede la cpu, gli viene lasciata la cpu
3) dipende dal tuo tipi di gpu/cpu comunque, se puoi usale tutte e due, è sempre capacità di calco in più che non fa mai male ^^

Grazie per la pazienza (o meglio, secondo voi rileggerà mai sto thread? :D )

1)Se tu sai già cos'è il calcolo distribuito bene se no andiamo più nelle basi. È un programma per contribuire alla ricerca donando la potenza del proprio pc, nella fattispecie ricerche di tipo biologico sulle proteine (studi fondamentali in questo campo eh...)

2)Uhm direi di no... se usi il client CPU sicuro di no e puoi tenerlo su qualunque cosa tu faccia, il client GPU invece... beh quello nuovo per le 2xxx e 3xxx è programmato meglio (l'han fatto in CAL) e se tu metti sotto sforzo la scheda video tipo giocando rallenterà e tu quasi non noterai la presenza...però se è una cosa pesante magari salta la WU... è ancora in beta :D Io per ora l'ho provato solo con Caesar 4, dettagli al max, e andava tutto fluidissimo... proverò con altri giochi a breve

Cioè la norma per questo genere di programmi (folding@home e BOINC) è essere leggerissimi che non ti accorgi della loro presenza, il client GPU però proprio perchè sfrutta la scheda video, magari può dar fastidi... te prova e facci sapere :D

3)GPU, se hai più di un core buttaceli su entrambi, 1 core va a quello GPU... e son tutti felici :D

Folding@Home dispone di vari client

Quello GPU sfrutta la GPU e come effetto collaterale un core

Gli altri client che sfruttano la CPU invece... quello standard sfrutta 1 solo core, mentre c'è quello SMP che dovrebbe sfruttarli tutti su 1 wu sola...

Io però faccio così, CPU impegnata con BOINC e uno dei suoi tanti progetti, che funziona bene e senza tante storie, GPU con Folding@home perchè è l'unico che c'è al momento

Così avresti BOINC impegnato con 4 wu (di cui una quasi ferma ma vabbè) e la GPU impegnata anche lei col suo client

con vista 64 funziona?
Perché io sto usando rosetta (CPU client) che con vista 64 funge, se funziona folding@home con vista 64 (1900xt) potrei usarlo
