Sony’s Jim Ryan commented on the situation, confirming that Final Fantasy 7 will be exclusive to the PS4 in the beginning, but didn’t say what the duration of the exclusivity was.
Ryan did however confirm that Final Fantasy 7 is not a console exclusive to the PS4, which means that Square Enix will eventually bring the remake to other platforms, presumably the Xbox One.
Square Enix’ Tetsuya Nomura will be directing the remake, but there is also an HD port coming as well. The remake will be a complete remake, with a new graphics engine, new effects, etc, but the base game will stay the same.
